Technician Certification for Refrigerants |

This course prepares you to take the EPA's Type I, II, III, and Universal certification exams for working with CFC refrigerants. Since 1994, EPA-approved ("Section 608") certification has been required for servicing air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
This course covers:
• Basic refrigeration principles - a review.
• Safe refrigerant handling.
• Environmental concerns related to refrigerants - ozone depletion and global warming.
• Regulations and requirements for working with refrigerants.
• Service practices for specific types of refrigeration equipment.
Completion of this preparation course will make you eligible to take the
official EPA certification exams, which Local 39 Training also administers. Upon
confirming that you have passed the course, the online administrator
will discuss available dates for the EPA exams.
